Awaken on Twitter!

In Awaken this morning, Russell mentioned that you can now find us on Twitter. This is true, and exciting, because Twitter is a whole new way to get updates from people and organizations in real time. You’ve probably heard about it a lot lately in the news, from your friends, or maybe from your kids. To help you get started, here is a helpful video:

NEW SERIES: Faces of Faith

Moses Final

Join us in Awaken as we spend six weeks exploring the Old Testament stories of people “who through faith conquered kingdoms, enforced justice, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, quenched the power of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, were made strong out of weakness, became mighty in war, put foreign armies to flight.“ Starting Sunday, July 5.

Monday Update

I am waiting at Starbucks (Hillcroft & 59 South) for coffee to be taken to the Spiritual Life Department at HBU.  I will be sharing the scriptures with them and encouraging them to press on with the message of the Gospel to HBU students.

Today, my heart is filled with passion for the work of God in my family.  I will be taking a few days off this week to spend some much needed time around the house (lawn, painting, etc.).  Also, I hope to spend some much needed time talking to Jeanie about how we can pursue the simple life of loving much, sacrificing much, and wasting little.

I pray your week is good.  Consider the following verse from today’s Psalm 84 “For a day in your courts is better than a thousand elsewhere. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of wickedness.”

I love you all.
